AFC Foundation invites Innovative Ideas for Implementation of Budget Proposals for Agriculture and Rural Development

Budget is basically an annual estimate of country’s revenue and expenditure with statement of intentions. However, over the years a lot of excitement and hype has been associated with the budget announcement which is traditionally presented to the Lok Sabha by the Union Finance Minister on 28th February every year.

It is also a general fact that the media and the corporate world take very little time in giving a judgement on the budget proposals and branding the budget into popular phrases such as ‘growth oriented’, ‘pro-poor’, ‘pro-agriculture’, pro/anti-middle class’, etc. The discussion in the media is confined to direct and indirect taxes and concessions for the corporate world. Strategies of the Government for accelerating growth in rural areas and for general welfare of 60 to 75% of the population gets only the passing references of judgemental nature. The mainline media does not pay much attention to the strategies that need to be adopted for fructification and grounding of the policy initiatives of the Government for achieving the best possible results.

AFC Foundation, keeping in view the above situation, invites the ideas for implementation of the budget proposals, so that the same could be submitted to Government of India and the State Governments at appropriate platforms.

Since the material being invited is in the Public Interest, AFC Foundation, a Not-for-Profit Public Trust, would not be in a position to pay any cost towards preparation and submission of the ideas. However, if any support is received from the Government or any other agency, the author of the idea will be associated as Advisor/Mentor in implementing the idea with suitable honorarium.
